Davies won the senior coach category for his efforts with the Bulls and was joined in the winner’s circle by Romsey’s Michael Richardson (MILO in2CRICKET), Wallan’s Robbie Fowler (junior) and Gisborne and District Cricket Association’s Damian Bonner (representative).
Wayne Brundell (Macedon) and Tim Argall (Wendouree) were also recognised as finalists in the junior coach of the year section, such was the strength of their nominations.
The awards event – held at St Patrick’s College pavilion on Friday – also included the Central Highlands pathways presentations for season 2015-16.
Player of the series, batting, bowling and fielding award winners for the Highlanders junior teams were revealed, as were the junior country week and Kirton Shield best players.
Cricket Willow provided a $50 Jabaroo voucher for all player of the series winners.
Cricketers who represented Victoria throughout the season were also recognised during the evening.
Meanwhile, Paull Jeffery was honoured for his service to the Central Highlands region.
Jeffrey has been coach of the under-18 boys team for the past 10 years and this year took the side to the final at the MCG.
