5.10pm: Simon Ogilvie bowls Matt Kane and the Bulls are 8-106.

4.50pm: Golden Point on top! Simon Ogilvie snares the wickets of Ryan Knowles and Peter Kane first ball to have the Bulls in trouble at 6-90, before Dean Romeril gets Jason Knowles to leave Brown Hill 7-94.

4.40pm: Ryan Knowles reaches his half century and Brown Hill is 4-90. Knowles is unbeaten on 56, with brother Jason not out three.

4.20pm: Bailey Van De Heuvel gets Shane Harwood for the second time in the match and Brown Hill is now 4-69.

4.15pm: We’re back from tea and Ryan Knowles (36 not out) and Shane Harwood (five not out) have taken the Bulls to 3-61.

3.30pm: Dan Davies departs in the final over before tea and Brown Hill is now 3-52. Saman Jayantha took the catch off the bowling of Dean Romeril to dismiss Davies for 12.

3.10pm: Brown Hill moves to 2-45.

2.50pm: A couple of chances have gone begging for the Golden Point boys, with Brown Hill now 2-29. Dan Davies and Ryan Knowles at the crease.

2.22pm: Andy Warrick has Tim Knowles caught and bowled and the Bulls are 2-13.

2.20pm: Austin Murphy goes cheaply and Brown Hill is currently 1-12. Bailey Van De Heuvel had Dan Davies caught in slip, but he was not out because of a no ball.

1.45pm: And Golden Point is all out for 163. Andy Warrick and Peter Appleton were the final two batsmen to fall, with Dan Davies and Tom Bourke-Finn snaring the wickets. Brown Hill now needs to chase down 182 to win the grand final.

1.30pm: Dan Davies strikes again and dismisses Dean Romeril for 11. Golden Point now 8-159.

1.20pm: We’re back underway in the Ballarat Cricket Association firsts grand final and Brown Hill has an early breakthrough. After resuming unbeaten on 78, Saman Jayantha is out for 81. He was caught behind by Dan Davies to leave the Pointies 7-152.

DAY THREE

6.30pm: And that’s stumps on day two. Golden Point is being led by Jayantha, who has moved to 78 not out. The Pointies are 6-141, with a lead of 159 runs.

6pm: There’s another breakthrough and this time it’s Tom Bourke-Finn who gets it. Damian Klein is out for nine and Golden Point is 6-115.

5.45pm: Saman Jayantha has reached his half century. The Sri Lankan is unbeaten on 52 and has carried the Pointies to 5-104.

5.18pm: It’s Harwood who strikes again! He has Daniel White caught nicely in the slips by Tim Knowles for 11. Golden Point 5-66.

5.05pm: It’s drinks and Golden Point is 4-47. Saman Jayantha (18 not out) and Daniel White (three not out) are fighting hard for the Pointies.

4.46pm: Andrew Falkner is gone, caught behind off the bowling of Dan Davies for 14. Golden Point is now 4-31.

4.35pm: Andrew Falkner (13 not out) and Saman Jayantha (zero not out) in the middle with Golden Point 3-24.

4.19pm: Harwood has a third! Simon Ogilvie is out after he was caught by Tom Bourke-Finn for six. The Pointies in trouble at 3-16. Harwood has 3-4.

3.58pm: Harwood strikes! He has Dwayne Hiscock caught in the slips and then skipper Josh White bowled in the same over. Golden Point now 2-8.

3.48pm: Shane Harwood takes the new ball as Golden Point starts its second innings with a lead of 18 runs.

3.24pm: Brown Hill all out for 146! Golden Point claims the all-important first innings lead.

3.06pm: Bailey Van De Heuvel has Paul White caught behind for four and the Bulls are now 9-132.

3.05pm: Brown Hill chipping away at the target and is now 8-132. Dean Ferris and Paul White at the crease.

2.45pm: Simon Ogilvie with another two wickets – Tim Knowles (36) and Peter Kane (18) – as the Bulls slide to 8-125. Ogilvie now has 5-47.

2.20pm: Simon Ogilvie strikes again with Matt Kane dismissed for a duck. Brown Hill now in strife at 6-103.

2pm: After a quick-fire 26 from 33 balls, Jason Knowles is the fifth man out for Brown Hill, which is now 5-78. Simon Ogilvie got the breakthrough to join Bailey Van De Heuvel with two wickets each.

1.30pm: The Pointies have started day two of the firsts grand final well, snaring the wickets of both Ryan Knowles (10) and Shane Harwood (12) to have Brown Hill in trouble at 4-45.

DAY TWO

6.25pm: It’s stumps on day one of the BCA firsts grand final and the match is nicely poised. Brown Hill is 2-35 in pursuit of Golden Point’s first innings score of 164. Ryan Knowles (10 not out) and Shane Harwood (two not out) will resume the innings on Sunday from 1pm.

Meanwhile, Buninyong is in a strong position after day one of the seconds’ decider at Wendouree Reserve. The Bunnies are 1-28 in reply to Ballarat-Redan’s total of 95, which came from 64 overs at the crease.

5.55pm: And the Pointies have another one! Simon Ogilvie has Austin Murphy trapped leg before for 12 as the Bulls slip to 2-19.

5.50pm: Golden Point has a breakthrough. Youngster Bailey Van De Heuvel gets the wicket of Dan Davies (seven), with the Bulls now 1-19.

5.30pm: It has been a slow start to the first innings by Brown Hill, which is 0-9 during the ninth over. Dan Davies (seven not out) and Austin Murphy (two not out) are in the middle.

5pm: Golden Point is all out for 164. Jason Knowles (4-45), Dan Davies (3-25) and Shane Harwood (3-48) did the damage for the Bulls, which now head to the crease for their first innings.

4.35pm: Golden Point is 8-152 after losing Daniel White for 28. Dan Davies took the wicket and now has figures of 3-25.

4.15pm: Jason Knowles has struck with two more wickets, removing both Damian Kline (one) and Dean Romeril (zero) to leave the Pointies 7-144 from 46 overs.

4.05pm: Another wicket for Brown Hill and again it’s Dan Davies who strikes. He has Josh White trapped leg before for 48. Golden Point 5-141.

3.30pm: Dan Davies has struck with the wicket of Jayantha for five and Golden Point is now 4-120. Josh White (45 not out) is joined in the middle by brother Daniel (four not out).

3pm: Ogilvie has been dismissed for 50 by Shane Harwood, with the Pointies now 3-91. White (27 not out) and Saman Jayantha (zero not out) are in the middle.

2.45pm: And that’s a half century for Ogilvie! The all-rounder has helped Golden Point to 2-90 from 29 overs. White is also still at the crease and is unbeaten on 26.

2.30pm: The Pointies have moved to 2-77, with Ogilvie 38 not out and White unbeaten on 26.

2pm: Golden Point steadies and is now 2-46. Captain Josh White (16 not out) and Simon Ogilvie (17 not out) at the crease.

1.35pm: Golden Point is in early trouble at 2-20, with openers Dwayne Hiscock and Andrew Falkner back in the sheds. Jason Knowles has both wickets.

12.30pm: Brown Hill captain Ryan Knowles has won the toss and sent Golden Point in to bat.
