BALLARAT Rush will receive a major injection of experience ahead of their clash with Brisbane at the Minerdome on Sunday as co-captain Kerryn Harrington returns from injury.

The former WNBL Bendigo Spirit player was lured to the Rush at the start of the 2016 season but succumbed to a hand injury in a practice match one week out from the season proper.
Harrington said it had been a frustrating four weeks on the sidelines, and was looking forward to making her main draw debut for the Rush. “It’s definitely not how I would have hoped to start the season, but (coach David Flint) and the coaching staff have allowed me to be involved almost in an assistant coach capacity which has been great.”
Harrington’s recovery has been speedy, after doctors initially predicted the point guard could spend as long as eight weeks on the sidelines. “The specialists always give you the worst case scenario,” Harrington said.
The Rush go into Sunday’s match at fourth on the SEABL East pool ladder.
