Adelaide United took on Western Sydney Wanderers at a packed Adelaide Oval on Sunday, May 1 for the Hyundai A-League Grand final.
Just over 50,000 fans witnessed a match pitch-side which saw Adelaide United up 3-1 at the final whistle, winning the elusive championship for the first time.
It was a feat many fans would not have predicted in November, when the Reds were bottom of the table; but they flipped that statistic on its head, taking out the premier's plate just weeks before adding the championship trophy to the cabinet.
Goal scorers in the first half were Kamou (United, 21'), Isaias (United, 32'); second half scorers were Neville (Wanderers, 58') and Sanchez (United, 89').
The grand final loss was Western Sydney's third in four years.
