This is the fourth year the Ballarat shop has taken part in the celebration of all things comic-book related. Opening at 10am, you’ll be able to meet local artists and writers such as Dillon Naylor, Ruth Fox, Colin Sinclair and Dean Giles; as well as taking part in the Cosplay competition from 12.30 and watching the Ballarat Swordcraft team display their skills.
Free Comic Book Day celebrates everything related to the myriad genres of comics available today: from superheroes to manga to to sci-fi, horror and graphic novels. Around the world over 6 million free comic books have been ordered to be available in the world’s comic book shops.
Heroes HQ owner Jean de Vaillant says the purpose of FCBD is to show existing and new customers the array of comics available in independent stores.
“Our customers will have a choice of some of the rare comic books made available worldwide,” says Jean.
