BADAC’s youth have been chosen to play on the MCG at half-time of the Essendon v Richmond ‘Dreamtime’ clash on Saturday night through the popular Australia-wide Auskick initiative.
BADAC governance and compliance officer Travis Bull said the experience will be a “highlight” for the children, all of whom are either Indigenous or from Torres Straight Island.
"It’s quite a highlight for them, given the significance of the round," Bull said.
“We have been doing Auskick for five years and involved in the Dreamtime game for the same period.
“We have about 10 kids going down to the game and the program has just over 20 kids.”
“The boys and girls who are part of BADAC’s Auskick program have some great natural skills and abilities. I can’t wait to see them proudly represent our local community on Saturday night,” BADAC’s Auskick co-ordinator Aiden Broughton added.
