More than 40 dancers from The Academy of Classical Ballet wowed onlookers when they performed at Pineview Residential Care and Eureka Village Hostel on Sunday as part of their community outreach program.
The Academy of Classical Ballet director Kellie Fishwick-Roscoe said it was an ideal opportunity for local dancers to practice their craft without any added pressure from competition.
“It’s a way to share their love of dance with the community,” Ms Fishwick-Roscoe said.
“They do it purely for the joy of sharing it with the elderly and it’s in an environment where there's no pressure for them.”
Since 2010, The Academy's students have shared their love of dance at Pineview, with the continued interest seeing it expand with performances for those at Eureka Village.
The students, ranging from five to 16 years of age, performed for more than three hours.
