The half-time outing was part of a behind-the-scenes experience Western Bulldogs offer in the club-led program, which aims to best equip students as leaders in their own community.
This is the first time the Bulldogs have run the Whitten Project in Ballarat. While there was a sense of the unknown early, Project participant Kathryn Hutchins said it had been an incredible experience so far.
“I’m learning so much from it, not just about myself but how other people are leaders,” Kathryn said. “I’m also learning so much from the people around me.”
Kathryn said a workshop with Bulldogs Luke Dahlhaus and Jordan Roughead was fascinating, analysing the different ways they show leadership in their team.
Workshops focus on leadership qualities and civic engagement.
