The session will be held on Tuesday, July 12 from 7pm to 8pm at St Thomas More Primary School on the corner of Cuthberts Road and Elaine Avenue, Alfredton.
It has been organised by the Catholic Diocese of Ballarat and St Patrick’s Parish.
An information flyer says the name can be derived from a range of sources including biblical references, saints’ names, gospel values, local indigenous language and Latin terms.
It should also reflect Catholic identity, heritage and traditions, the school’s role as an educational institution and its place in a suburb named after the “Lucas Girls”.
It also needs to take into account it is on Wadawurrung people land, the culture of learning and faith it wants to establish, and a story which can be shared with primary school aged children.
The school will open next year.
