Luke Gahan from the LGBTI Anti-Violence Project said it was disappointing not all the election hopefuls had decided to share their views on marriage equality.
The survey also asked about education programs in schools, anti-discrimination legislation and the treatment of LGBTI asylum seekers.
“I didn’t expect to get many responses from the religious parties, but I did expect to get a response from the Liberal party and from the National party,” he said.
Both Liberal candidate Sarah Wade and Nationals candidate Paul Tatchell have previously told The Courier they support same sex marriage.
Labor candidate and MP Catherine King said her party would legislate marriage equality within the first 100 days of government, Greens candidate Alice Barnes underlined her party’s long-term support and advocacy on the issue and independent Bren Eckel said he would support positive recognition of all “loving relationships that come under the LGBTI banner”.
Mr Gahan’s questions asked for detail on how parties would campaign and react to the proposed plebiscite, the treatment of LGBTI asylum seekers and more.
