Coming off the back of a disappointing 4-1 loss to Point Cook last week, the Vikings again found themselves on the back foot, going into the break a goal down.
However Sebastopol came out a different side in the second half, with Carl Frankson leveling the scores within two minutes of the restart.
With the hosts now on the back foot, the Vikings managed to secure a corner in the 68th minute, which would create an own goal after a scramble in the square.
The physical contest resulted in a red card for Viking Adam Newbold, while a Surf Coast player was lifted off with a broken leg.
