While Navarre was able to kick the opening two goals in the low scoring contest, the Tigers bounced back to go in level at quarter time.
From there the visitors began to knuckle down, creating a five point buffer at half time before heading into the final term with the same advantage.
From there the Tigers asserted their dominance on the contest, kicking three goals to one to take the four points 7.10 (52) to 5.8 (38).
Joshua Brown led the way for the Tigers with three majors, while Stefan Pye was also instrumental in putting an end to the Grasshoppers’ unbeaten streak.
The Tigers have now leapfrogged Navarre at the top of the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football League ladder.
The result leaves Royal Park as the only undefeated team in the league with six games left in the season, and puts the Tigers as favourites to end Navarre’s tilt at a fourth straight premiership.
