Ballarat is one of six finalists, with Donald, Dunkeld, Kyneton, Hanging Rock and Pakenham.
The BTC is also a finalist for the event of the year for its cup meeting.
This is a much bigger field, with the Avoca Cup, Benalla Cup, Camperdown Cup, Cranbourne Cup, Dunkeld Cup, Swan Hill Cup Carnival, Warrnambool Cup Carnival, Wodonga Cup, Woodford Cup and Yarra Valley Cox Plate race day shortlisted.
The CRV awards night will be in Ballarat on Saturday, August 20, which coincides with the inaugural jumps carnival.
BTC chief executive officer Lachlan McKenzie said bookings were rolling in for the two-day carnival. He said the club was hoping to attract 5000 patrons to Sportsbet-Ballarat on the Sunday, which will feature the $350,00 Grand National Steeplechase. The carnival will also include an international jumps jockey challenge.
