Debbie Hill and Jackie Gorring are two of 26 artists selected as finalists among 64 entries from across Victoria and Australia. The exhibition will be held August 7 to 28.
The prize winner will be announced on August 6 during the exhibition launch at Red Rock Regional Theatre and Gallery.
The prize was inaugurated in 2006 to provide Colac’s newly-built aged care facility with colour and life and give residents, family and the community the opportunity to enjoy an award-winning collection of art.
This year, artists were invited to submit a work inspired by a contemporary issue or event, focusing on concepts imagined or formed in the mind.
Debbie Hill is Ballarat-based, works in drawing, and is a former winner of Ballarat’s Rick Amor Prize. Jackie Gorring lives in Daylesford and works in print, sculpture and drawing.
