The Reds made the four-hour trip on Friday to ensure it gets the best possible preparation.
Travelling the day before for such lengthy trips is something the team feels can give it an advantage in its preparation and is a good opportunity to develop the team morale.
“We’re making sure our preparations right and the boys are getting the best possible chance to perform at their peak,” Manager James Robinson said.
“We’re just trying to lift our standards in everything we do.
“It’ll be a good test for us, we’ll give them the respect they deserve. We’ll plan and prepare ourselves in the best possible way to just make sure we come away with the right result.”
Red Devils will be full of confidence following its 4-1 win over Sunshine George Cross last week.
Despite sitting ninth on the ladder Sunshine hadn’t lost in four games prior to the hefty defeat which Robinson said was some of its best soccer and it was now beginning to find some consistency in its play.
“Sunshine George Cross are one of the form teams of the competition at the minute.
“Our expectations are high. We believe that if we keep pushing and keep driving we’ll end up with the right results that we deserve.”
Robinson was pleased with the progress over the last couple of weeks and felt the challenge now was to continue to build on last week’s win as well as keeping the energy of the group up as the season draws to a close.
“We’re coming into the back-end of the season with five games to go. We need to keep the freshness sharp within the playing group.”
The Reds will be without Paul George who will miss with an ankle injury. Robinson said the injury was something the club would have to closely manage.
While Daniel Firth and Liam Harding will both play at under-20 level. Firth is expected to have his game time monitored while Harding, who has been away for some time as well as struggling with “niggling” injuries, will play a full 90 minutes.
