The 12-year-old finished the three-kilometre race in 15:11, around 30 seconds off the gold medal time. Peart claimed a silver medal at the same event when it was held in Melbourne last year.
The result comes just weeks after the YCW walker took out the Athletics Victoria Walks Championship for the second year in-a-row.
The youngster will now turn her attention to the Victorian All Schools competition, which will be held in November. She will be hoping to earn selection in the Victorian side which will again travel to Canberra in Decamber for the national All Schools competition.
Peart’s medal comes just days after Ballarat walker Jared Tallent claimed a silver medal in the men’s 50km walk at the Rio Olympics, with sister Rachael competing in the 20km event.
