Investigators said the alleged offenders broke into the Devon Avenue house sometime between midnight and 7am on August 25.

When the victims woke up they found their laptop computers, mobile phones, a video game console and a wallet containing credit cards had been stolen.

One of the stolen credit cards was used to pay for a taxi about 4am the same day.

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives believe three men got into a taxi on Moreland Road in Coburg, near the intersection of Cornwall Street, and travelled to Essendon and Strathmore.

Transactions were also made with the credit card at both these locations.

Police have charged a 16-year-old Coburg boy with aggravated burglary, theft and obtaining property by deception. He been bailed to appear at a Children's Court at a later date.

Police have released images of two other men they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

Both men are described as Caucasian and aged between 17 and 20.

At the time of the incident one was wearing glasses and a zip-up, hooded windcheater from The North Face.

The second man was wearing a baseball cap and Adidas hooded windcheater.
