Each have their teams in grand finals at the Eastern Oval on Saturday.
Hodgson is in his first season with the Cobras and has an opportunity to make himself a Bacchus Marsh immortal.
He has Bacchus Marsh, which is yet to win a BFL premiership, in only its third grand final in the competition and first since 1999.
The Cobras finished second at the end of the home away season to earn a place in their first final series since 2001.
McCartin, who was also the coach of the year last season, leads City into its third A grade grand final in four years.
Alik Magin has been named captain on the BFL football team of the year, with East Point's Lauren Atkinson the netball team of the year captain to complement her best and fairest award.
