The Ballarat born and raised athlete finished as the first walker across the line in Adelaide’s annual City-Bay Fun Run.
Tallent, fresh from his silver medal in the men’s 50km at the Rio Olympics, completed the 12km journey in a time of 51:37min.
The fun run – which drew more than 25,000 participants this year – has been a regular event for Tallent, who was back in the Ballarat region last month for a short visit following his return from Rio.
Tallent visited his old primary school at Creswick, where he fielded questions and gave pupils a chance to hold his prized gold medal from the London 2012 Games.
Meanwhile, Brett Robinson was the first athlete to cross the line in the weekend’s City-Bay.
Robinson, who has ties to Ballarat and has used the city for training in the past, made the final of the men’s 5000m in Rio.
