The fifth Order of Australia Association School Citizenship Awards were presented at the Ballarat Town Hall on Thursday. The year 9 and 10 students were nominated by their schools for being “honest and caring” and “striving to achieve”.
The recipients included Naomi McKee (Ballarat Christian College), Darcy Robinson (Ballarat Clarendon College), Fletcha Bryan-Wakeling (Ballarat Grammar School), Brock Tinetti (Ballarat Secondary College East campus), Daniella Abrigante (Ballarat Secondary College Wendouree campus), Isobelle De Livera (Loreto College), Jane Mills (Mt Clear College), Dean O’Brien (St Patrick’s College) and Jacinta Watts (Phoenix P-12 Community College).
The awards are presented by the Order of Australia Association Central Highlands Regional Group and aim to inspire students to become an OAM recipient.
Hosting the awards, Ballarat City councillor Glen Crompton described the students as “stars of the future”.
