All emergency services were called to the two car collision just before midnight on Thursday. The front window of the Forty Winks store, on the corner of Mair and Peel streets, was completely shattered.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said one person was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital in a stable condition.
Ballarat Highway Patrol Acting Senior Sergeant Ben Young said police believed one car failed to comply with a traffic control signal, causing the other car to leave the road and plough through the window.
Ballarat uniform police are investigating the cause of the collision.
The window of the Forty Winks store has been boarded up and internal brick and wall damage is visible.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has further information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
