Now 15, the talented teen has just been offered the incredible opportunity to compete at the Royal Academy of Dance International Genée Competition in December 2017.
It’s a huge accomplishment – she is just one of 100 girls chosen worldwide – and the first ever from Ballarat.
Added to that, Ada has just accomplished the rare feat of winning all four of the major accolades at the Royal South Street Dance Eisteddfod. It’s only ever been done once before.
But it’s not been easy to get where she is – the Clarendon College student trains for about 20 hours a week at her dance school.
“I just like the way I can express myself. I don’t really like standing in front of audiences but when I dance, I can come out of my shell,” she said.
She said she hoped to travel the world through her dance.
Her dance teacher, Anita Coutts-Delaland, said Ada had always been “pretty special, quite unique”.
“There was definitely a light in her eyes and desire to engage with people through movement and her art, which is ballet,” she said.
Ada won the Royal South Street classical senior championship, pirouette modern senior championship, the U16 age aggregate and also the grand aggregate.
