Multiple police units are investigating the knife-attack which happened at 10.30am on Thursday morning.
Senior Sergeant Neale Robinson said a knife-wielding male offender broke into the Smythes Road, Delacombe property and confronted the resident.
“He demanded an amount of cash, which he took and then fled through the front door,” Senior Sergeant Robinson said.
The occupant did not sustain any injuries.
CIU and uniform police are continuing their investigations.
