Sarah Greenwood-Smith, who is a member of the festival committee, said the event was about celebrating the community.
“The festival has been inspired by the Brown Hill Partnership, which is bringing together community groups and individuals of Brown Hill,” she said.
“It’s about recognising the achievements of the partnership in its first year and the great work the City of Ballarat has done in the Brown Hill Recreation Reserve.”
The festival will include performances by children from Brown Hill Kindergarten and Caledonian Primary School, presentations, a taekwondo demonstration, live music, demonstrations, a jumping castle, and food and drink including a sausage sizzle.
There will also be displays from local groups and a Brown Hill Festival photo competition display.
“We want people to get together and say g’day – even to people they might not have known lived in Brown Hill – as well as have a good time,” Ms Greenwood-Smith said.
The festival will take place from 5 to 8pm at Brown Hill Recreation Reserve on Humffray Street North on Friday, October 28.
