The first regional Creator’s Market attracted a large crowd eager to stay indoors from the wild and wet weather at the Ballarat Exhibition Centre.
Organiser Megan Luscombe said there were 110 stalls, all featuring handmade and homemade items.
“You are actually meeting the person responsible for the product,” Ms Luscombe said.
She said the Creator’s Market started in Melbourne 18 months ago but they now had plans for two more Ballarat markets next year in two different venues.
Stallholder Zoe Dealehr and her brother Jack were attracting a lot of interest with Vivelo, their South American teas made with Australian ingredients. “We’re trying to perfect it and get it absolutely right,” Ms Dealehr said.
The organic teas include ones made from the outer shell of the Peruvian cacoa bean while their name, Vivelo, stems from the Spanish expression “Live It!”.
