Weir has OTI Racing-owned trio Lidari, Lord van Percy and Master Zephyr, as well as Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock's Taiyoo and China Horse Club's Auvray on his list of entries for Saturday's feature race.
The quintet helps make up a total of 28 nominations for the $300,000 listed event.
Melbourne Cup runner Grey Lion, trained by Matt Cumani in Ballarat, was expected to be one of the nominations, but is not one of the 28 horses.
The highest rated of the nominees is 2014 Caulfield Cup runner-up Rising Romance, while last year's winning trainer Chris Waller has just the one entrant in 2016 with the talented Lady Le Fay.
Acceptances for the 2200m event - and all 10 races on the Ballarat Cup card - will be taken on Wednesday morning.
