Ballarat Highway Patrol Senior Sergeant Pat Cleary said three drivers were apprehended for low-range drink driving, while no drivers were found to be driving with drugs in their system.
He said police were reasonably happy with the behaviour of punters.
“This is a reminder that if you are going to consume any alcohol, even if it’s a couple of drinks, you should leave your car at home,” Senior Sergeant Cleary said.
“If you do take your car, don’t drink at all.”
He said police would be continuing to conduct drug and alcohol testing on drivers in the lead-up to the holiday season.
“If you are driving, you should expect to be tested,” Senior Sergeant Cleary said.
