Commuters coming in from the west are battling a shocking run to work, with inbound lanes of the West Gate Bridge closed after a fatal collision between a truck and a motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist died at the scene after the vehicles collided just before 8am Monday.
Police are yet to determine whether the rider was a man or a woman.
The truck driver was not injured, but stopped to render assistance.
Just before 9am, police said all inbound lanes of the West Gate Freeway from Williamstown Road would be closed for several more hours.
Traffic heading towards the CBD is being diverted to either Footscray Road or Dynon Road. Meanwhile two lanes of Dynon Road, near Dock Link Road in West Melbourne, are closed after a truck rolled on the major thoroughfare. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
Five lanes of traffic already stuck the West Gate Bridge between Williamstown Road and Todd Road are funnelling very slowly through one lane as police take control of the horror crash.
Traffic is expected to take hours to clear.
