Central to the plan’s formation will be community input, which will help shape the implementation of projects, facilities and services in that time frame. 

Golden Plains Shire mayor Des Phelan said community input is crucial to the process.

“Council will collate all the input received into key themes and issues, and consider them when setting priorities for the council plan. We want the community to see themselves and their priorities reflected in this important document,” Cr Phelan said.

“The council plan is so important – it is like a road map to getting where we want to be as a shire over the next four years. We really want to work with our community to determine the strategic directions and objectives we’ll be working to.”

The community engagement process includes a survey open from December 5 to January 15, while community workshops will also be help in Smythesdale, Rokewood and Bannockburn on January 17, 18 and 19.

The Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan, which sets out the broad mission, goals and priorities to enable people living in the municipality to achieve maximum health and wellbeing, will also be incorporated into the Council Plan.
