Puppuccinos are the trademark item on Pipers’ new dog cafe menu, available at its outside kiosk at Lake Wendouree. The restaurant has expanded its menu to doggie diners so pampered pooches can snack on a waggin’ wheel and catch up with puppy pals, or human family members, over the drink.

Pipers manager Tammy Squires said the new business owners wanted to bring a little extra puppy love to lake dining.

“They’re dog lovers and saw a gap to fill a need, especially as the only cafe this side of the lake,” Ms Squires said. “So many people walking dogs are coming past. It has sparked a bit of interest.”

The menu also features a meat lovers’ mixed grill, sparkle bones, peanut buttercups and dog-friendly ice-cream. Water is always available to quench thirst. Ms Squires said it was cute to now have customers order a coffee and puppuccino inside to go.
