A stolen ute was in the hands of offenders for around 24 hours before it was completely destroyed by a deliberately lit fire, police say.

Police are appealing for witnesses after another vehicle was destroyed at the hands of opportunistic thieves shortly after it was acquired.
Ballarat Acting Senior Sergeant Barry Hills said two offenders dumped the 2014 Nissan Navara in the middle of McNulty Drive, Wendouree just before 1am on Friday morning.
The car was set alight and completely destroyed by flames. Firefighters were called to scene and quickly extinguished the flames.
The dumped vehicle and fire blocked off the road for some period.
“The utility was stolen the previous day from Sebastopol,” Acting Senior Sergeant Hills said.
Police have no descriptions of the offenders, but say two people were involved.
