Fire crews will continue to monitor the area today to ensure the blaze does not reignite.
It is estimated to have burned about 16 hectares.
UPDATE, TUESDAY 7AM: The fire at Meredith has now been contained.
As of 6.19am today, the CFA site said the fire had been contained, but would still be closely monitored.
There are still nine trucks continuing to fight the blaze.
There are no threats to communities.
UPDATE: 7.30pm
A statement from the CFA confirmed the fire is still not under control.
Crews are assisting the Department of Environment, Water, Land and Planning (DEWLP) fight the fire.
More than 20 CFA trucks are on the scene, with firefighting aircraft providing further assistance.
Firefighters are protecting one home located in the forest and are working to contain the fire in bushland.
District 7 rostered duty officer Mark Collins said hot and windy weather forecast tomorrow will require crews to monitor the incident overnight.
“We’re working closely with DEWLP to keep an eye on this forest fire because we’ve got bad weather conditions expected tomorrow,” he said.
An advice message has been issued, assuring no threat to communities, however advising residents in the area to monitor weather conditions, review your fire plan and keep roads clear for emergency service vehicles.

Fire crews are responding to a serious blaze in Meredith.
More than 30 vehicles have been sent to tackle one blaze located along Slate Quarry Road, according to the Vic Emergency Website.
The site lists another, separate, bushfire in the area – with 14 vehicles reported as attending, but it’s still unclear if the fires are part of one larger blaze.
Both fires are listed as ‘not yet under control’.
One of the fires is listed as travelling in a easterly direction towards She Oaks, Maude.
Residents in Lethbridge, Maude, Meredith and She Oaks are advised to be wary of the current situation.
