The actor, Captain America to his friends, is Hollywood's best value-for-money actor, according to new research from Forbes magazine.

The 35-year-old brought in $US135.80 ($181) for every $1 ($1.33) he got paid this year, thanks largely to his Marvel blockbuster Captain America: Civil War, which earned $1.15 billion at the global box office, the highest-grossing film of the year.

Evans also topped Forbes' 'Best Value' list in 2015. Unfortunately for Hollywood, he announced his retirement from acting in 2014, saying he'll focus on directing once his Marvel contract runs out (he has one more Cap appearance to go).

Another Marvel Chris ranked second on Forbes' list.

Chris Pratt, the former Parks And Recreation bit player-turned-Guardians Of The Galaxy action star, earned $125.40 for every $1 he was paid.

Pratt, who starred in last year's $1.67 billion-grossing blockbuster Jurassic World, has a double shot of big budget flicks due in cinemas next year: Passengers, the $120 million sci-fi epic, where he stars alongside Jennifer Lawrence, and the much-anticipated Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2.

Scarlett Johansson was the highest-ranked actress on the list, earning $88.60 for every $1 paid, thanks to her turns as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in Marvel's Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War, and surprise hits Lucy and Hail, Caesar!.

"Johansson's box office total for her last three films nears $2.4 billion. Her pay equates to a little over 1 per cent of that," Forbes reports.

Forbes' figures were garnered by looking at actors' last three wide-release, non-animated films, and comparing their total box office take to the stars' paychecks on the projects.

Mila Kunis ($49.50 for $1), Vin Diesel ($32 for $1), Jennifer Aniston ($27.80 for $1), Ben Affleck ($20.10 for $1), Robert Downey Jr ($18.40 for $1) and Matt Damon and Jennifer Lawrence ($17.70 for $1) rounded out the list's top 10.
