In the Ballarat Football League’s draft fixture – released to clubs this week – the Panthers have been booked to host Melton in a standalone season-opener on Saturday, April 8.
And Melton South is set for a huge start to the year, with a Good Friday encounter against Sunbury scheduled six days later, followed by an Anzac Day bout with North Ballarat City on April 25.
The Panthers’ first three games will be played on home soil before the side gets a bye.
Included in the fixture is five night matches inside the opening three rounds of the year, including a battle between North Ballarat City and Redan at the newly-upgraded Eureka Stadium.
Reigning premiers Bacchus Marsh is set to unveil its premiership flag in round two at home against Sunbury in a grand final rematch.
Clubs now have a chance to submit feedback to the BFL before the final fixture is confirmed for 2017.
