A strong field of 30 played three games of ten ends. At the conclusion of play their was three teams that won all three matches with Liz Hocking, Fred Saxby and Barry Yates coming away victorious on 48 points, one point clear of father son duo Michael and Trevor Booth and Ziggy Glasspool.
While in Central Wendouree’s Christmas pairs on Tuesday consistent rain saw play interrupted and made for slow running greens.
The weather challenged players, but the impressive duo of Elizabeth Kierce and Paul Lovell came out on top on 68 points, marginally edging out Midlands Golf’s Peter Considine and Eddie Harwood by one point.
There were four pairs of the competing 26 that went through their four matches undefeated.
The new year of bowls kicks off at City Oval on January 7 and 8 as Ballarat’s division of champion of champions gets underway.
