The Ballarat school boy broke the record on Monday after his shot rolled into the hole at 5pm – winning him $200 cash.
Daniel’s 91-metre hole-in-one qualifies him in the Warrnambool East Rotary Club’s final on Australia Day, where he will tee off against adults for the grand prize of a car.
He has been holidaying with his family in Warrnambool for the past six years and said he never thought of himself as a golfer.
“I was surprised and shocked,” he said of his effort.
“It hit the pin and dropped in, I didn’t even realise it went it. I’ve only played a bit of golf at school. I prefer cricket and football.
“If I win the car, I’ll probably sell it and buy more cricket gear.”
Daniel is the youngest competitor to hit a hole in one in the 13-year history of the Rotary competition at Viaduct Road.
