The Ballarat Beat Pinup Competition stage manager will oversee 35 pin up contenders at the Ballarat Beat Rockabilly Festival next month.
“Once I started getting into it I realised how much I needed to learn to appreciate who I am and my body for what it was,” the mum of three said.
“For once I felt like people were seeing my personality, not just the way I looked.
“It was like my personality was coming out in my clothing and people were seeing that, they weren’t seeing this fat girl who needed to lose weight, they were seeing something else.”
The Ballarat Beat Rockabilly Festival runs from Thursday, February 9 to Sunday, February 12 and includes performances by Jive Cats, Hillbilly Hellcats and Cherry Divine and a battle of the bands.
