Lambert hit an unbeaten 102 to give the Pointies an eight-wicket win over Mt Clear.
He appropriately provided the winning runs and brought up his century with a boundary with four balls remaining.
Lambert was dominant in the perfectly paced knock.
He smacked 18 fours and one six in Golden Point’s 2-138 in reply to the Mounties’ 7-137.
While Golden Point always had wickets in hand, the run rate climbed to 10 with still eight overs to go.
Mt Clear medium pacer Darcy Thomson was instrumental in tightening the screws through the middle stages of the innings and it took an extraordinary burst from Lambert to get Golden Point in command.
In a stay at the crease in which his focus was on reaching the boundary, he exploded as Point hit 35 runs in the 14th and 15th overs.
While Lambert, who made 237 in three innings in the Sporting Globe Twenty20 Shield, was the enforcer, opener Andrew Falkner played an invaluable innings with 25 in a 112-run first wicket stand.
Les Sandwith was the backbone of Mt Clear’s inning after it was sent in to bat.
He batted through a testing period when the Mounties lost two early wickets in the space of a few balls to go on to get 50 with five fours and one six.
Chris Townrow provided a quick 20 and Ash George 31 (3 fours, 1 six), but ultimately nothing to match the firepower of Lambert later in the night.
While Golden Point firsts captain Josh White missed the game because of concussion, he has been cleared to play against North Ballarat on Saturday.
