Beginning on February 19, the club is launching a six-week social bowls competition aimed at encouraging new bowlers to learn the skills in a relaxed atmosphere. Teams of four or individuals are encouraged to come along and learn the art.
Club president Jenny Cameron said the social competition provided newcomers with an excellent opportunity to learn the skills of the game without the pressure of competitive match-play.
“Not everyone wants to play competitively, or commit to a competition while they’re still getting the hang of their technique,” Ms Cameron said. “Of course, some people will go on to play pennants but others will continue to bowl socially from year to year.”
People who are interested should contact the club or call Craig Drewer on 0457 329 145.
