A man died when his car left the road and struck a tree at about 2pm this afternoon in Bullengarook.
Investigators believe the car was travelling north along Bacchus Marsh Road, near William Road, when a tree fell onto the car about 2pm.
The car has then left the road and crashed into another tree.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.
The road is currently blocked off to traffic and drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.

A Bacchus Marsh road is completely closed to traffic following a serious crash on Thursday afternoon.
All emergency services are believed to be at the scene of the crash. William Street is blocked off.
Drivers are urged to seek an alternative route.
Victoria Police media is expected to release a statement about the collision shortly.
