1. Australian men are the world's longest lived, a new study has revealed, but the research shows that by 2030 they will have been knocked off the top spot for world life expectancy.
The study shows that across the developed world life expectancies continue to climb, pushing above 90 for the first time.
2. Coca-Cola Amatil will close its manufacturing plant in South Australia, cutting about 180 jobs, and shift the work to Queensland as part of a $90 million supply chain restructure.
The beverage giant said it had reviewed its operations across Australia and concluded it should increase production in Queensland and Western Australia and close its plant in the Adelaide suburb of Thebarton.
3. French presidential hopeful Emmanuel Macron has claimed London for France, urging a packed rally of expat compatriots to return to their homeland – and bring the UK's bankers with them.
But on the same day he declared London France's "sixth city", back home polls showed him losing his position as favourite to occupy the Elysee Palace after the April election.
Macron came to London under a cloud, after a week of controversy damaged his campaign.
4. The consumer watchdog is urging motorists to use petrol price comparison apps and websites in a bid to boost competition and push down prices.
It comes as new figures show the December quarter in 2016 had the highest quarterly average price since the June quarter in 2015.
ACCC chairman Rod Sims says fuel price comparison tools that help motorists pinpoint the cheapest deals were helping some save as much as $15 each time they filled up their tank.

Cast and crew have wrapped up their first day on set in London for the as-yet untitled Han Solo movie, with Disney releasing a photo of some familiar (and not-so-familiar) faces.

I read that the Turnbull government has decided to make the cost of living its focus for the year. Oh dear. In that case, brace yourself for a year of con jobs and flying bulldust.
There's a long history of politicians professing to be terribly concerned about "the cost of living" and nothing good ever comes of it. It's always about saying things to keep or win your vote and rarely about doing anything real – let alone sensible – about prices.
7. Melbourne great Garry Lyon says that Jack Watts' omission from the Demons' squad of 29 to play the Bulldogs on the weekend is a timely reminder that new coach Simon Goodwin is going to put his own stamp on the team.
"I think it was a good day for the Melbourne footy club, not a great day for Jack Watts," Lyon said on morning radio.
8. The Ross River virus risks becoming a global epidemic on the same scale as the Zika virus, Australian researchers say.
A study has found that Ross River transmitted by mosquitoes could be carried by placental mammals and not just marsupials as previously thought.
In a decision that puts Mr Bowen and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten at odds with the Left of the Labor Party, Mr Bowen ruled out supporting the push, revealed by Fairfax Media, to adopt the Buffett tax as policy.

US President Donald Trump spoke out against anti-Semitic threats on Tuesday, but his words were not enough for the Anne Frank Centre for Mutual Respect, whose executive director called the President's acknowledgment of anti-Semitism a "Band-Aid on the cancer of anti-Semitism that has infected his own administration".
"The anti-Semitic threats targeting our Jewish community at community centres are horrible and are painful and a very sad reminder of the work that still must be done to root out hate and prejudice and evil," Trump said after a visit to the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture.
