Bobby Slater pleaded guilty to possessing the goods, but told police he did not know they were stolen when a friend asked him to post them online, a court has heard.
Slater also pleaded guilty to three counts of driving while suspended during his court appearance on Thursday.
The Ballarat Magistrates' Court heard the owner of the items stolen from a burglary in Hill Street came across his goods on the Facebook page and alerted police.
As for the driving charges, the court heard Slater was caught driving three times within two months on a suspended licence.
On one occasion he told police he did not know he was suspended and on another occasion decided to drive because it was too wet.
Slater's lawyer, David Taminika, said his client, who had more than 10 priors for driving with either a suspended or disqualified licence, understood he was facing jail time.
He said there was a "tragic backstory" to his client's offending which included the death of his mother and grandmother.
Mr Taminika said the deaths lead to sleeping difficulties, which his client often tried to deal with by driving late at night.
As for the stolen goods, Mr Taminika said Slater was only trying to help a friend and unfortunately did not make inquiries about what he was selling.
Magistrate Clive Alsop told Slater he was "treating driving as a joke".
"You have pages and pages and pages of history of driving disqualified (and suspended)," he said. "I have no choice but to jail you."
Slater was jailed for three months.
