Anthony Kuel and Tristan Fisher were key contributors as the Miners defeated Hume City Bronco by 18 points at the Minerdome on Saturday night in their first game
Kuel shot 21 points and had 11 rebounds, while Fisher finished with 18 and eight.
Rush was not so fortunate in a doubleheader.
It lost to Dandenong Rangers by 23 points in the women’s youth championship and is yet to open its account after two outings.
Taylah Wynne led the way offensively for Rush with 15 points, while Laura Taylor and Claire Constable each had nine rebounds.
