Ambulances were called to the incident off Springbank Road at 12.30pm. The man was transported to the Wallace oval where he was airlifted to Melbourne.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the man is believed to be in his 70s and had sustained leg injuries.
It is the fourth serious tractor accident this month following three deaths, sparking police concerns about safety.
Last Saturday, police announced a 47-year-old man had been run over when he fell from a trailer being towed by a tractor at Myrrhee on March 21.
The man was airlifted to Melbourne but died in hospital on Thursday, with police investigating the accident and WorkSafe notified.
A 68-year-old man died following a traffic accident at Meredith on March 16, while a 53-year-old man died last Thursday after becoming trapped under a tractor at Wandin East.
Those incidents occurred on private property so will not be included in the road toll.
WorkSafe has been notified and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
