Lisa McCune will join fellow actor and writer Roland Rocchiccioli to perform Letters from the Heart for one night at Loreto College.
The play, written and directed by Mr Rocchiccioli, begins in war-torn England in 1941 and follows through exchanged correspondence the lives of Rupert Mitchell-Moore and and his love Diana as the fall of Singapore shatters their lives and sets Diana on a course of self-discovery.
Mr Rocchiccioli says he was inspired to write the play by stories from great wartime performers he met in London such as Richard Todd, John McCallum, Googie Withers, Patrick MacNee and Vera Lynn.
“They were established stars in theatre and film,” says Mr Rocchiccioli.
Letters from the Heart is presented by the Rotary Club of Wendouree at Loreto College Theatre on April 21. Tickets are $45 through Her Majesty’s Theatre.
