The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning on Saturday afternoon, including damaging winds and possible hailstones.
A 106 km/h wind gust was observed in Hamilton in the state’s south west as part of the weather system.
Towns west of Bendigo have also experienced strong wind gusts.
The temperature will plummet on Sunday to the low teens as a cold front crosses Victoria, bringing isolated showers.
The thunderstorm warning is current for Bendigo, Maryborough, Ballarat, Mildura and Horsham.
