The event, which was held at the Ballarat Squash and Racquetball Centre, attracted 99 players across two open divisions and seven graded sections.
In a tightly contested men’s open, top seed London emerged from the preliminary round robin matches as the heavy favourite.
London met second seed Darcy Walsh in the men’s final in an arm wrestle where London won the first two games, Walsh responded taking out the third and fourth games, and London won the fifth to record a 11/5, 11/6, 7/11, 8/11, 11/6 victory.
In the women’s open, Flavell did not drop a game in her first three round robin matches and only lost one game in the final.
The rising star defeated the more experienced Peta Murphy in the final with a 11/4, 11/7, 5/11, 11/5 victory.
It was a welcomed breakthrough for Flavell, who recorded two runner-up placings to Christine Nunn at the Mountain District and Geelong Opens.
The Ballarat Open Squash Championships was the fourth event of the Victorian squash circuit.
The next event is the Westerfolds Open on April 29 and 30.
