King, who has been playing a defensive midfield role during the National Premier Leagues Victoria 2 season, has been sidelined through suspension after picking up five yellow cards.
He will be replaced in the starting line-up by Carl Frankson, who has secured his first start of the 2017 campaign.
Ballarat will travel to take on Bendigo on the back of 3-0 victories against Richmond and Sunshine George Cross, which has the team in eighth spot on the west division table.
The Ballarat boys are yet to claim any points on the road this season.
“It’s a game we expect to win, but at the same time, we can’t underestimate Bendigo because if we do, there’s a good chance we will get found out,” Ballarat coach Danny Gnjidic said.
