But it faces perhaps its biggest challenge yet as it travels to take on Melbourne City on Saturday.
A youth side of an A-League team is always going to offer up a challenge, but coach Danny Gnjidic says his group will make the trip to La Trobe University with plenty of confidence following 13 goals in three weeks.
Players were not required to train on Monday, with Ballarat City giving the group the session off to “freshen” up after 10 rounds of the 28-round season.
Gnjidic said Melbourne’s pitch had similar dimensions to Morshead Park and felt that his group would enter the clash with confidence, as well as an unchanged line-up, with the challenge of winning against a quality side away from home awaiting.
“Getting points away is always a big one,” Gnjidic said.
“Hopefully we can limit their strengths and exercise ours.”
