Show spokesperson Bette McLaren said feedback from judges, entrants and visitors said Trentham was one of Victoria's premier regional art shows.
She said the high standards helped draw a crowd of more than 2000 and sales were strong, with 64 pieces sold over the weekend.
Trentham local David Bryant won the new portrait prize for a water-colour of tattoo artist Laura Gibbs.
Archibald prize finalists Rose Wilson and Daniel Butterworth awarded the prize named after local artist and doctor Gweneth Wisewould.
The show was strongly supported by locals, but a number of entrants were from Melbourne and other regional areas.
